For Week Of August 2nd --- Auto City Speedway --- DNF -------------- Next Race --- 8/9/08 --- Auto City Speedway --------------- Check Out The Schedule Page, For The Resent Schedule Changes
With only four races left it was crucial to have a good showing last Saturday night at the Auto City Speedway, but that didn't happen. Practice went pretty well for Menlen Motorsports, as we were just fine tuning the car for the race. We went out 4th for qualifying turning a 15.76, the same as three other cars, putting us 6h fastest. We finished where we started in the heat race, 5th. We lined up 4th on the grid for the 30 lap feature. Within the first couple of laps we dropped back to about 7th , due to handling problems. Then, what looked to be a bad night got worse as we got pushed off the outside of the track coming out of turn two. We sod surfed all the way down the back stretch grass until we hit the tire s. The car then went up on its left side before coming to an abrupt stop against the guard rail. That would be the end of our night. First off I'd like to thank Larry and Ed for the opportunity to be on the weekly radio show, Race Talk, last Wednesday night. I had the opportunity to talk about how we got to where we are today and our future plans. I would also like to thank the crew, as we're going to have a lot of work to do this week. Menlen Motorsports will make our next stop at the Auto City Speedway on August 9th before going to the Dixie Motor Speedway on August 15th for the USPRO race. For our complete schedule check out the schedule page.

After a disappointing rain out last week, Menlen Motorsports was glad to hit the track again. We struggled all throughout practice, qualifying 11th. The crew and I searched the car for problems causing a lack of horsepower. We determined it was a battery, so we replaced the battery and lined up for the heat race. We started 5th of the 6 car field and quickly jumped up to 3rd.
